Assessments & Evaluations

Psychological & Mental Health Evaluations

A psychological evaluation is a guided, supportive process that helps you understand your symptoms, why they’re happening, and what solutions will help you feel better. Evaluations include a conversation about your experiences, evidence-based questionnaires, and a clear explanation of results.
We provide assessments for individuals ages 16 and older.

Why Assessments and Evaluations Matter

Assessments give you clarity. They help identify whether what you’re experiencing fits a specific diagnosis and guide you toward the right type of treatment or support. Evaluations reduce confusion, confirm what you’re going through, help uncover underlying causes, and provide a practical plan forward for your mental and emotional well-being.

What to Expect During an Evaluation

Your assessment will feel like a structured conversation—supportive, private, and judgment-free. You’ll talk about your experiences at your own pace and complete a few questionnaires to help us understand what you’re going through.
Evaluations typically last 45–90 minutes.

Receiving Your Results & Next Steps

After your evaluation, we review your results with you in a clear, understandable way. You’ll learn what your symptoms mean, whether a diagnosis is appropriate, and how these findings relate to your daily challenges. We avoid medical jargon and make sure everything is easy to understand.

You’ll also receive personalized recommendations that may include therapy options, lifestyle strategies, follow-up services, or documentation for school, work, or legal purposes. Written summaries or formal evaluation reports are available upon request.

Court Attendance Policy

Providers do not attend court hearings, testify, or participate in legal proceedings of any kind.
We can provide a written evaluation or summary, but we cannot appear in court or serve as expert witnesses.
This helps us maintain a focus on clinical care rather than legal involvement.
For court-related evaluations or testimony, you will need a provider who specializes in forensic mental-health services.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need an evaluation if I’m unsure what’s going on?

Yes. Evaluations are designed to bring clarity when things feel confusing or overwhelming.

Will I receive a diagnosis?

If your symptoms meet diagnostic criteria, yes. If not, you will still receive a clear explanation and recommendations.

Can I ask questions during the results review?

Absolutely. Your evaluator will answer any questions and walk you through everything step-by-step.

Can the results be used for work, school, or legal needs?

Yes—written documentation can be provided.
However, providers cannot attend court or testify.

What if I have multiple concerns?

That is very common. Evaluations look at the full picture and identify all contributing factors.

Do you accept insurance, and how much does the evaluation cost?

We accept major insurance for evaluations. Coverage varies by plan, so the best way to confirm your specific benefits is to contact us directly. You can also visit our homepage for a full list of insurance plans we accept or call/text us to verify your coverage.

If you are paying out-of-pocket, the cost of an evaluation depends on the type of assessment. Payment is typically due at the time of service, and we accept major credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and other approved payment methods. A superbill can be provided upon request if you wish to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.
