Our Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship Program offers student NPs the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on psychiatric experience in a supportive, clinically diverse environment. What Students Can Expect

Our preceptorship experience blends clinical learning, professionalism, and real-world mental health training. Student NPs will have structured opportunities to:

Program Structure

To provide meaningful supervision and a high-quality learning experience, we maintain structured guidance throughout the preceptorship. Unlike many programs, we currently have open availability for student placements, allowing more flexibility for scheduling.

• Weekly supervision meetings
• Direct clinical observation hours
• Case discussions and treatment planning reviews
• Optional supplemental assignments or readings
• Exposure to diverse client presentations and clinical scenarios

Our structured, hands-on learning approach ensures each student receives personalized support throughout their rotation.

Eligibility

We offer placements for:

• Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) students

All students must provide:

• Proof of enrollment in an accredited NP program
• Liability insurance
• University-required documentation
